No matter if you're selling a product or just making a connection, the 5 facts below are your proven keys to success when writing aricles that drive website traffic and get results!

As long as your goal is to elicit a reaction or response from your reader, you are reading the right article.

1. Write for your reader, not for you:

Most ads, blogs, and websites carry on about how wonderful their products or services are. Hello? Stop telling and start selling. Think of your reader because all they want to know is "What's in it for me?" Take action, ask some of your current clients why they chose you, and, what they get out of your product or service that keeps their interest.

Fact: Instantly make your copy reader centric by inserting the word "you" more often.

2. Craft a cunning headline:

The first thing your reader sees makes the difference between success and failure. Today's marketing and advertising is full of clever headlines that play on words. Many of the are clever however most of them are not effective. When crafting your headline remember that your client is asking "What's in it for me?", so be sure to appeal to your reader's interests and concerns.

3. Use a converstional tone:

When writing for web traffic, write just like you would talk to them face to face. Avoid formality and be brief. Why? being conversational helps prospects to trust you more. Don't use slang or jargon, and avoid buzzwords; stick to the facts and the benefits. Keep your article brief and easily readable. No one has time to pour over a lengthy article full of fluff. The faster you convey your benefits to the reader, the more likely you'll keep them reading.

Tip: Use subheadlines, bullets, numbers, or even dashes - to make your article easy to read and understand.

4. Focus on the benefits, not just the features:

Just because your product or service has alot of cool features doesn't amount to much if your customer does not see the benefit in having or using it. Give them the peace of mind they are looking for and you will make the sale every time. Identify whith their need and exceed their expectation.

5. Never forget to ask for the order:

Close your article by telling your prospect what you want them to do next; do not leave any doubt in their mind about what to do next. It amazes me how much marketing I see every day that doesn't tell the reader what to do next. Your goal should be to write such compelling content that your reader forgets you are advertising or marketing anything.

Fact: more often than not if you tell them what to do, they will be more likely to do it.
